Earlier today, the gun-grabbers in Albany passed S-8164 through the Codes Committee and added it onto the Senate calendar, which means it may come up for a floor vote in the Senate at any time.
This legislation is truly deranged. As you may remember, New York State enacted unconstitutional ‘Safe Storage’ laws in 2018 that forced you to render your firearms useless in many cases.
So while violent crime surges across New York State, you and I are required to unlock our gun safes, find our firearm, find the ammo we need, and load the gun in the pitch black.
Many gun owners across the state ignore this stupidity, knowing that it could very easily get them killed by an armed home invader who isn’t going to give them time to load their handgun!

Furious that their statist laws are being ignored by gun owners, Governor Hochul and Senator Anna Kaplan are pushing S-8164, the bill that passed out of committee today.
If signed into law, this legislation would hit YOU with felony gun charges if someone broke into your home, took your firearms, and used them to commit a crime! It’s insanity!
It wasn’t enough for these politicians to allow suspected criminals back onto our streets without requiring bail, release convicted predators out of prison because of Covid, and pass gun control laws aimed at disarming us.
Now these elitist thugs want to make us into criminals if an actual criminal breaks the law and steals our firearms! And to be clear, these are FELONY charges.
So if you are convicted under this statute, you’d be looking at 1 – 3 years in a state penitentiary and thousands of dollars in fines for the ‘crime’ of having someone burglarize your home and steal your firearms!

Now that this bill has cleared committee, it has been added to the debate calendar, which means this bill could be on the floor for debate at any time.
And since this is New York State — where bills routinely go from one chamber, to the other chamber, and to the Governor’s desk in the same day — there is no time to lose!
