Assembly Bill 199 (and Senate Bill 1893) would ban the sale of any semi-auto handgun that could possibly be modified into a machine gun using an illegal Glock switch.
Let’s be clear: Glock switches are already 100% illegal — under both federal and New York State law. Criminals caught with them are already committing crimes.
So this bill isn’t about stopping crime. It’s about punishing you and me!
Law-abiding gun owners would be banned from buying handguns like the Glock 19 or 17 — because criminals somewhere else might break the law? That’s tyranny.
This bill has already been filed in both the Assembly and the Senate. It has 31 cosponsors in the Assembly and 10 in the Senate. Hochul wants this badly.
