Moments ago, the gavel fell here in Albany, marking the opening day of the 2026 legislative session in New York State. And that means one thing: the gun-grabbers are back at it.
Before we get into what’s coming, let me simply say ‘Thank You.’
Because NYSFA members held the line last year, we stopped a long list of gun control bills that Hochul and her allies were counting on passing quietly.
But that only made Hochul and the commies in Albany angrier.
Now, fired up after the November elections (and because Elise Stefanik dropped out of the race for governor), the Democrats are pushing the biggest gun control agenda we’ve perhaps ever seen.
While there are a lot of gun control bills to be aware of, there are three that are at the top of the list:
- 10-Day Waiting Periods on Gun Purchases (S. 362)
- Civil Liability Insurance Mandates for Gun Owners (A. 5611)
- A Ban on .50 Cal & Other Big Bore Hunting Rifles (S. 4277)
Either way you look at it, we are in for a big fight. And we’re not waiting around to mobilize gun owners. That starts right now!

Kathy Hochul and the thuggish Democrats in charge here in Albany want us to sit down, shut up, and be quiet.
