One of the biggest mistakes gun owners can make during the final days of session here in Albany is assuming that no public movement means no movement at all.
That’s not how Albany works.
Right now, Kathy Hochul and legislative Democrats are behind closed doors trying to determine exactly how much gun control they can force through before adjournment on June 4.
And once leadership finishes the budget fight — the last budget extender vote is supposedly happening later today — gun control bills could move fast.
The goal is obvious: Kathy Hochul wants to disarm us.
That’s why they are pushing legislation to ban Glock handguns, impose 10-day waiting periods on gun sales, require mental health exams before we can buy a gun, and force us to carry civil liability insurance just to own a gun.
None of this has anything to do with stopping violent crime.
This is about controlling law abiding gun owners who live here in New York State.

And with only days remaining before adjournment, Hochul knows this is her window to move controversial legislation while the public is distracted and Albany operates behind closed doors.
That’s why NYS Firearms Association is warning gun owners not to tune out right now.
The final days of session are when leadership twists arms privately, cuts deals quietly, and moves legislation rapidly once enough votes are secured inside caucus meetings.
We’ve seen it happen before.
That’s why NYSFA is continuing to scale up emergency email alerts, digital advertising, grassroots outreach, and text mobilization programs during these final days of session.
Our system is fully automated and delivers your email directly to your State Senator and Assemblyman based on your address.
And please hit the “Send 3X” button so lawmakers continue hearing from gun owners repeatedly over the next three days while these negotiations continue behind closed doors.
If Hochul and Albany Democrats believe nobody is watching, they will move aggressively.
But if enough gun owners flood Albany with pressure and make it clear there will be political consequences for anti-gun votes, we can still hold the line here in New York State.
After your email is submitted, please consider making an urgent donation of $10, $25, $50, or even $100 to help NYSFA continue funding emergency grassroots mobilization programs before adjournment on June 4.
Gun control is not stalled in Albany.
The votes are being lined up right now.
For New York State,

Aaron Dorr
Executive Director
NYS Firearms Association
P.S. The final days before adjournment are when Kathy Hochul will try to ram gun control bills into law.
Five gun control bills remain active, and the moment the budget is finalized, these bills could move very fast.
