Our recent polling of New York State Firearms Association members made one thing crystal clear:
➡️ Gun owners are DONE with symbolic gestures. You want real action — to repeal gun control, not just slow it down.
And now, because of relentless grassroots pressure from gun owners like you, we might finally get it.
When the House passed President Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” earlier this year, it included:
✅ Removing suppressors from the National Firearms Act (NFA)
But last night, the U.S. Senate Finance Committee released their version of the bill — and it goes even further.
✅ It keeps the suppressor provision (Hearing Protection Act)
✅ And it ADDS the SHORT Act — delisting short-barreled rifles (SBRs) and short-barreled shotguns (SBSs) from the NFA too!
That means:
No more $200 tax stamps
No more ATF registration
No more bureaucratic red tape for law-abiding Americans
But this isn’t a done deal.
🛑 Senate Democrats — many of them from deep-blue states like New York — are already working to strip this language out before the bill hits the floor.
📞 Here’s what to do: Call Senators Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand RIGHT NOW at (202) 224-3121)
Tell them:
“Gun owners in New York support the Hearing Protection Act and the SHORT Act. Leave them in the Senate’s version of the Big Beautiful Bill — or face the consequences at the ballot box.”
Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand hate guns rights, we all know that. But voting against a bill this important for gun owners, is all but certain to cement their minority status after the 2026 elections, too!
This is our best chance in nearly 90 years to start dismantling the NFA.
Let’s finish the job.
Call now. Then forward this email to every gun owner you know.
